How many sessions will I need? Microshading / Ombre Brow procedures are a 2 step process, requiring two separate appointments usually spaced 5-6 weeks apart. It is important to complete both sessions.

What's the difference between microshading and ombre brows?

Microshading is best suited for clients with normal to dry skin. The technique includes adding microblading strokes in the front of the brow and gradual pixelated shading throughout the rest of the brow.

Ombre Brows are great for ANY skin type, including oily, combination, and aging skin. This method typically produces less pain because there is no microblading involved. Clients can expect pixelated shading throughout the entire brow; healed brows mimic a subtle powdered makeup look.

How long will my brows last?

Your new brows can last up to 3 years depending on your skin type, genetics, and aftercare adherence.

Usually, clients with oily skin tend to lose pigment at a quicker rate so may see their brows fading significantly at the 2-year mark.

How long will my appointment take? The appointments can take up to 3 hours.

will my eyebrow appointment hurt? Most clients feel zero to little pain. Topical anesthetics are used throughout the entire appointment to keep you most comfortable.

What is the cost of my eyebrow procedure? New eyebrow procedures start at $600; Foreign touch-ups/cover-up procedures start at $400.

Is microshading and ombre Powder Brow procedures a form of tattoo?

Both procedures are forms of eyebrow pigmentation, also known as semi-permanent makeup.

Compared to traditional tattoos, the pigment in microshading and ombre brow techniques is implanted superficially, in the epidermis (top layer of skin). Traditional tattoos implant pigment in the (deeper) dermal layer of skin.

When should I come back for my touch-up appointment? Should I come back if I can still see my brows from my first appointment?

Your eyebrow procedure is a TWO-STEP process.

The first appointment allows us to create a shape; the second helps us to perfect the shape and add depth to your new brow color. It is recommended that clients return 5-6 weeks after their initial appointment for a touch-up pigmentation session.

If I had my eyebrows done somewhere else, could I come to the Modern Muse Spa for a touch-up session or correction?

Clients requesting eyebrow services that were initially completed by another artist must first do a virtual consultation. Please be prepared to text 415.860.6044 with full-face photos from the center, left, and right sides for us to better evaluate. Do not crop your photo as it doesn't allow us to see the full symmetry of your current eyebrows and the shape against your features.

HEALING EXPECTATIONS

EYELASH EXTENSION FAQ'S:

What are eyelash extensions?

Lash Extensions are a glamorous way to enhance the length, curliness and fullness of your natural eyelashes.

Do eyelash extensions damage your natural lashes?

Extensions grow with your natural lashes, they do not affect the growth of your natural lashes when they are applied correctly.

How long do lash extensions last?

Extensions can last up to 5 weeks.

The lash extension retention is based on several factors including how fast your natural eyelashes grow , lifestyle and aftercare. It is recommended that you come for a touch up every 2-3 weeks to keep them fluffy and intact. We grow brand new lashes every 3-6 weeks

So at the touch up appointments we will remove out-grown eyelash extensions and replace them with new extensions so that the weight is distributed properly to prevent damage to the follicle.

How long is a typical full set appointment?

The average treatment time is between 2-2.5 hours, depending on the density of your natural eyelashes and your desired look.

How long is a typical lash touch up/fill appointment? â€‹

The average treatment time is between 1.5 hours, depending on the density of your natural eyelashes and your desired look.

Do you accept foreign fills ( lashes initially applied by another lash artist)?

Foreign fills are accepted however, please keep in mind different salons use different products / techniques ect. For the appointment to be considered a fill we will have to be able to work over your previous lash artist’s work. If we are unable to work with your current lashes, or if they were poorly applied, there is a chance that we would need to remove and apply a brand new set. Obviously we’ll assess this at the time of your appointment and will try our best to work with the old lashes but in some cases that is just not possible.

What is the cost of my eyelash procedure?

The cost depends on the desired density of your extensions.  Please refer to our pricelist by clicking the tab labeled "THE SPA".

When should I come back for my eyelash touch-up appointment?

We grow brand new lashes every 3-6 weeks; so it is recommended that you return for your eyelash extension refill every 2 - 3 weeks. Appointments AFTER 3 weeks, or clients returning with < 40% of extensions intact will be considered a full set.
